Tiger Woods gets a labradoodle
Tiger Woods didn’t celebrate his victory at the PGA
Championship by partying all night. He picked up a puppy.
Woods and his wife, Elin, flew to Houston from the Chicago area
after the golf tournament at Medinah Country Club and got a
labradoodle, according to a monthly newsletter on Woods’ Web
site. Woods already has a border collie named Taz.
“He’ll be good company for Taz,” Woods said of his new dog,
which is now at his home in Florida.
The puppy, named Yogi, is a mix between a Labrador retriever and
a standard poodle. He didn’t explain the meaning of the dog’s
name.
The world’s top-ranked golfer may not be spending too much time
with his new pet immediately.
Woods is competing this week in the World Golf Championships
Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio, which he has won four
times. He has won the past three events he has played: the
British Open, the Buick Open and the PGA Championship.
After the event, Woods and the 11 other members of the U.S.
Ryder Cup team will travel to Ireland where they will spend two
days practicing for next month’s matches against Europe at the K
Club, Woods said on his Web site. The Ryder Cup is scheduled for
Sept. 22-24.
When he returns home, he said he’s expecting his pooches will be
well-acclimated to each other.
“They’ll definitely keep us on our toes,” he said.
